On January 10, Han Tao, Chinese Consul General in Toronto, visited Devlin Wind Farm, a Canadian company. During the visit, Han Tao listened to the introduction of the development, construction, safety management, production and operation of the wind farm, and cordially greeted the staffs.
Han fully acknowledged Longyuan Power's efforts in integrating into local society and taking its social responsibility. He pointed out that Devlin Wind Power Project was a model of Chinese-funded enterprises in Canada as the first wind power project independently invested and constructed by Chinese power enterprises overseas. The project provides clean electricity to the local area, creates a job opening, and brings economic benefits to the community and the aborigines, which has established itself a positive image of Chinese enterprises. Meanwhile, he encouraged the staff to work in safety in the wind farm, enhance safety awareness, improve the ability to prevent risks, and strive to achieve "pre-treatment of possible danger".
Later, Mr. Han Tao met with the chief of Six Nation where the wind farm is located, made an impression for local people to know about Longyuan Power and laid a good foundation for the long-term cooperation between the wind farm and the local indigenous people.
With the continuous development of bilateral relations between China and Canada, cooperation between the two countries in trading has further deepened, and a growing number of Chinese enterprises have come to invest in Canada and established businesses. The wind farm is the first wind power project independently invested, developed, built and operated by Chinese power enterprises overseas. It is expected to be the subject of major publicity in Sino-Canadian trading cooperation in the future, which will greatly enhance Longyuan Power's reputation and popularity at home and abroad.
